Depends of your nationality. Grupo TACA maintains pilot bases in all the Central American capitals, and your assignment and conditions would of course depend on your nationality. Guatemalan pilots are based in Guatemala as "Aviateca" pilots, Salvadoran pilots are based in San Salvador as "TACA" pilots, Honduran pilots are based in Tegucigalpa as "TACA Honduras" pilots, Nicaraguans are based in Managua as "NICA" pilots and Costa Ricans are based in San Jose as "LACSA" pilots. Unless you are a citizen of one of these countries, they will not be interested in talking with you. Pay is in your local currency (Quetzales, Dollars, Lempiras, Cordobas or Colones).

Depending on your nationality, you would apply at the Grupo TACA office in your home country, and they should forward the resume onwards (if you know a TACA pilot, it might be worthwhile to ask him to introduce you to his base chief pilot). The chief pilot is a Guatemalan pilot-- Sergio Alburez, however there are base chief pilots.

Grupo TACA requires you to hold a Federal Aviation Administration Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. They were planning to hire earlier this year, however the fuel crisis caused a hiring freeze.

:ok: Hi guys.. do you know the TACA or LanPerú requirements, licence, hours, type rated or not, age, etc..??
What are the procedures, do they publish jobs in local newspapers, etc?
How is the interview? They do any medical check, simulator?
Thanks

meaw, the TACA/Cubana A-320's are now dry-leased aircraft to Cubana. Met some of their people in Toronto a few months ago-- all Cuban (Cubana) pilots.
