My sons have FS2004 installed on their computer, but the computer is badly in need of reformatting.

Sadly, although we have all four discs still for FS2004, one of the little monkeys ripped off the label with the product key from the box so I feel we will not be able to reinstall the program.

Is it possible to discover the product key of the already installed program?

Download and run from here:-

Most product keys come up in the read out, about halfway down (Software Licences) in brackets adjacent to the product title.

Providing you have the 4 original discs - you won't need a product key. Installation creates a reference number for you to note down, but it has no relevance to a new installation.

Don't forget to update to version 9.1 via Microsoft's website after you re-install.

My FS install routine never asked for a key - although it did generate one, for use if phoning support. I bought mine close to release though, so it may have changed since then.
