AIR NAMIBIA CANCELS MANY FLIGHTS TO JOHANNESBURG DUE TO "COMPULSORY AND URGENT MATIENENCE". DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH ONE OF THEIR B737-200'S?
Acft is in for its compulsory "C" Check maintenance. Due low volume of passenger traffic, Air Nam choose the festive season to do it.

MATIENENCE
Thats the serious sort of maintenance! Takes much longer than usual and is far more complex than a mere C check!!

Sounds like a good economic decision - quiet period so do the service, and book the pax on other airlines with no problem.
The FACT - FYWH flights have not been affected by this.
