Sun Office 8 (Impress versus PP)

I am getting a new laptop and want to try Sun Office 8. I've trialled the Open Source stuff from Sun and was quite impressed.

However, since I use PowerPoint a lot, I want to know if Impress has the same "functionality" as PowerPoint, specifically inserting and playing video clips and sound ?

Any info appreciated (have done search but need some more in depth info).

Using Impress I managed to do a small slide show using a video of my nephew. It worked perfectly when saved using the open source file .odp format but if you save it in another format the video is lost, so as far as I can tell it will only work with Impress.

To put video into a slide just use Insert - Movie and Sound and pick the file you want to use.
