Colleagues,

You will all have seen the ad on pprune for the MSc in Air Transport Management at City Uni in London. I am a N. Sea captain on As332s, and a student on that course. I am doing my research project, and writing my thesis on the provision of pilots for the N. Sea UK sector over the next decade.

I AM CONSIDERING THE FOLLOWING:
1. A brief history of what has gone before,
2. the demographics of the industry, and the forthcoming high numbers of pilots approaching retirement,
3. The loss of younger aircrew leaving for the FW market (all you younger guys GO THERE!)
4. The reduced numbers of pilots leaving the forces,
5. Self sponsored training and associated costs,
6. Sponsorship by the operators,
7. The pros and cons of training in Europe or abroad.

All input whether within the forum or direct to me by email would be gratefully appreciated.

AN IDEAL TIME TO AIR YOUR VIEWS, GUYS & GALS!

Just put a line on this to get it back on the thread.

haven't any of you got any thoughts on which way the industry may go, and where they are going to get pilots from.

If you read all the other subjects you will find not a single person who is championing the industry to new entrants!

Is the average age of pilots going to go up and up and up, until they have to move the retirement age to the right just to keep what is left of the industry afloat?
