Hello

Just want to know if there is anybody out there who did this Global Scheme and are still unemployed!

I have been in the "holding pool" for some time now, almost a year and nothing seems to happen.

Just want to hear if anybody knows anything, because nobody seems to care to give any updates (neither from Astraeus or the guy in charge at global.

If anybody in charge of this program will reply to this post, I will appreciate that.

Do you really think they are "working" on finding a job for you?? Holding pool? Is that what they told you?

Sorry to hear that, as we are all desperate, but donīt trust someone who's trying to sell you anything, even if they are honest. Advice for the future.

Oh god.

Good luck.

Of course I know what is going on there, they will most likely not give me anything at all, we were promised to get 100h B737 time for free to stand a better chance to get jobs on our own, but the  at Astraeus wont even let us buy hours there now....

I heard that some similar scheme in former Yugoslavia was heavily involved in frods like this, and Interpol was looking into it, maybe Interpol should take a look at this as well?

I haven't got any relation with Astraeus, but to be honest from what you say, I believe that you have a problem with Global, not with them.

Who did you pay the TR course to? Who promised you that you were going to fly on line with AEU, after you paid to Global?.

Sorry, but I canīt believe that you were dealing with AEU and the sent you to pay global to come back and do the training with them. Next time get all promises in written.

Can I ask you how many sims and/or aircraft does Global have? Have they got a ground training centre?

Best regards.

Are you Crazy?????????????????????

or just desperate!

Buying a type rating is fine, because you are trying to make yourself different from the rest of the mob , but please then offering to pay to fly someones aircraft! That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!!!

They are gonna take the P**S right out of you pal.... Dont be a fool and ever offer to pay to fly someones fare paying passengers and freight!

EUMember , I have just run a search about Global Aviation solutions and found that a very senior manager of Astraeus answered to a similar enquiry on Decembre 28th 2003. I will quote what he said and you are welcome to run a search yourself and read what other people had to say about them.I have nothing to do with Astraeus or indeed GAS,infact I am employed as F/O by a different UK company on the 737.
Quote"..Just to correct one thing. Astraeus recruits it's own pilots, and does not have any supplied from Global. However, a number of other charter and scheduled carriers take pilots from Global.

Astraeus has 6 aircraft with a fleet of 8 aircraft for Summer 04."....

If people out there have information about Global which suggests that they are trading fraudulently, let's hear it. By PM if necessary. I have no information about them since the conversation referred to above, but I am aware that there are one or two organisations out there that exist purely to fleece you of your money and leave you high and dry. It's about time they were exposed.

From my understanding GLOBAL 'ran' a scheme in conjunction with Astraeus (in that Astraeus aircraft and LTCs would be used as part of the training).. 'ran' is the operative word, the scheme no longer exists to my knowledge as they were having problems placing pilots with airlines. In particular, Ryanair was a big issue as they decided only to take pilots with a minimum of 100 hours on type.. GLOBAL students were only offered 10 sectors.

Be careful to castigate Astraeus.. to my knowledge they are NOT GLOBAL.. it would be nice if a member of AEU management such as Hamrah etc could confirm this. BOND on the other hand 'was' part of AEU.. certainly when I was on the programme. BOND has now been sold to an Aberdeen based company. However, BOND still provide SSTR's to students via Astraeus' fleet and training division. To correct the earlier post, Astraeus have employed GLOBAL 'grads', as they have too employed BOND 'grads'

I am aware that GLOBAL promised students the extra hours to achieve 100 hours free of charge.. but then changed there minds, allegedly because certain people were hassling them?? That last statement IS rumour:suspect:

Please be careful to attack Astraeus, they merely provide a service to SSTR's.. they may not be able to offer any bods further hours as they may not have the trainers in light that they constantly train BOND students. For the record, Astraeus pay pilots to fly.. if you get offered a job you no longer are part of BOND and become a fully fleged AEU F/O who is payed.

I wish you ex-GLOBAL guys all the best this seems to be a **** up, your beef should be with GLOBAL personnel however.. whoever the hell they bloody are!!

I hope an AEU rep. or indeed GLOBAL reps (if you're out there) can reslove this unpleasant ambiguity

I heard a rumour that somebody was hassling them (the duration of the course was 3-4 months stated in the contract, but lasted 7-8-9 months, so who can actually blame them??)

regarding the 100h they promised, I think AEU is punishing everybody ,because somebody did or said something...

I know that I signed a contract with Global, but every enquiry etc, had to go through an AEU salesperson, who is now flying for AEU and don't care a  abut the people in the holding pool any more.

To add fuel to the fire,

When I started the course we started in the Sept. LST was late Oct. The SEP and doors where in Nov. along with the base training.

My first line flight was in Feb. of which I did two, my next flight was in May/June. Due to the length of time, I had to undergo another OPC, then finished the line training a month after that.

I'm not having a go at AEU, but I feel they too were shafted by someone in management who had an interest in Global.

For those in the 'holding pool' the best thing is to look for jobs off your own back, look at it as an experience that will and should stand you in better stead with companies who are hiring.

Good Luck.

Just to add another little issue, when Global invited us to a meeting last February, they said they would return the Ryanair assessment money back to us, but I bet they forgot.......

We were promised to get back more than 400 Euros, but nothing happened.

430 Euros times 40 candidates adds up a nice pile of money , doesnt it?

I bet some of the people involved in this must have VERY deep pockets.

I am writing this to let everybody know how this ignorant  threat us.

I am interested to know how many of you former Global Students who had to find jobs themselves or are unemployed

Lookout below- The start date of my course is irrelevant,it is just for you to figure out who we are, or probably you don't, maybe your longterm memory failed as it did regarding the Ryanair assesment payback:rolleyes:
