Hello guys, a friend of mine says 'Flying the big jets' is a very interesting book to read. And I think it would give me alot general knowledge in aviation.

The only problem is where I can purchase it in HKG, I don't really want to buy it online because my mum doesn't like it very much. Does any of you guys know which store in HKG does sell this book?

Thanks! =)

Kevin

I bought my book from a company out of Australia. A general search should do it.

The book you want is: Handling The Big Jets by D.P Davies, not the flying the big jets book.
A little hard to find but Aviation World In Canada has it from what I am told.
I got mine on E-Bay.
You could always E-mail Aviation World, find out the total cost and then mail an order in if you need to avoid getting Mum upset....

Won't hurt to give them a call or fax them the ISBN code. May be you have a relative or two in Canada that can mail you a copy? I currently have this book, pretty good stuff for beginners.

Then again CP, why bother with Canada when you could walk to Bankstown and buy it there!? Got mine for (AU) $72.60 from:

Concept Aviation Supplies
Building 621
Airport Avenue
Bankstown Airport
NSW 2200
(02) 9791 0222

I too would agree that Handling the Big Jets is a must read....pretty good stuff for beginners
And pretty good stuff for not-complete-beginners too!

Hope that's some help :ok:

I was referring to "From The Ground Up" just to clarify things.

As for online shopping, yes there are issues but if you clean out all the spyware and viruii (sp?), there should be no problem. Just double check with the credit card company in regards to fraudulent use and pentalies. Or you can check if you can purchase with money order. The bank will charge you a small fee but it is a safe method of wiring money.
