Hi,

I would just like to know what the living and working conditions are like for the cabin crew in etihad and auh.

I was with QR for 2years and it was a mixture of bad and good experiences. X-Qr crew I leave you guys to do the math.:{

So I'd like to ask a few questions about etihad since, my bond for QR will be over soon. and I have an interview with etihad next year'

-Is Auh better than Doha, eg... malls, discos, movie houses, places to relax in, night life?

-Is there an accomodation curfew, eg...no cabin crew boys in cabin crew girls accomodation after 10pm and vice versa, no visistors?

-Whats the pay scheme like?

-Company culture and atmosphsere, eg... CSD or security guard reportd you- you get terminated, passenger complaint -you get terminated, stupid and moronic reasons- you get terminated, etc......

-Are company demands tolerable, eg... in QR you arrive from LHR in the morning same day in the evening leave for CMB?

-what is the rate of promotion and resigantion among the crew, eg... If i was with qr for 2 years how fast will i get promoted? Are crew also resigning in droves like in QR?

-Is there an AAB or saliya (and many other ass kissers) to terrorize the crew?

-Are the crew happy with ETihad and AUH.....in GENERAL?

X QR crew that are now in ETihad, Guys I'd really appreciate the help and information. I dont want a redux of my lovely QR experience. It still gives me nightmares up to now. Thanks.

hey c,

i am in the same boat as you! i am also an ex-qr crew and i'm joining EY soon. so glad to have made my escape from QR where ABB and Saliya the Snake "take us more personally":{
I swear i still have nightmares until now! anyway, I heard from a friend who is an EY crew that EY and AUH r much bettah than QR & DOH.

*Bettah workin conditions, crew treated as crew (not numbered mere laborers)
*Bettah accomodations (trainees are housed in hotels for the first two months)
*Fewer "dog eats dog" policy e.g crew reporting on fellow crew to get promoted especially those who come from Curry Country
*Longer Layovers (it'll probably get shorter until those flights have daily skeds, but still!
*No Service Crew, that's for sure! Which sane airlines delays the most important part of the training (Safety)
As for the salary, u get 3000 AED monthly basic + 210 dirhams per duty day layovers included

However, I heard the EY management frowns upon crew who paints the town red (partying, getting drunk and being identified as an EY crew) I guess they don't want their crews to have party animal reps.:O

So, that's pretty much it. Don't rely entirely on this data, though. what's great for some doesn't entirely apply to others. its bettah to find out for yourself. Gudluck!

SQ114,

I think all the airlines in the gulf know that if your X-QR, your going to be a wonderful addition to their cabin crew family.

They know the kind of cr_p we live with and fly with. The worst cabin crew environment in the world(QR) produces the best diciplined, hardest working, highest level of tolerance and most obedient crew that Im sure EK and EY will just love to take.

After QR, Im sure EK and EY will be like heaven to us.

Hope to see you either in EK or EY:ok:

.....not to mention the best service providers, which is why the passengers love them.

I know a couple of people with EY and one of them recently arrived from LHR in the morning and flew to LGW in the evening. I assume this kind of rostering does not only appear at QR.

Seasick,

What do you mean exactly, A long haul (LHR) then after 12 hours another long haul (LGW).

That is classic QR rostering.

Hope somebody from EY can clarify this. I hope this is not true.
