Hey everyone,

It says on the ozjet website that the airline will be starting flights from tomorrow.

Anyone out there employed by them? I bet all the new cabin crew are very excited about starting work with a brand new airline.

let us know how things are going!!

I believe things didn't start with a bang, but it is a bad time to start a business class airline coming summer holidays etc. Perhaps if the flights were longer people would be prepared to cough up the cash, but really I fly a lot on peak domestic and the suits are mainly in the back (still getting points and sipping dry white in the lounge anyway)!
I hope it stays around for the longhaul, even if they need to fill seats with "Rush Hour" sale occassionly.

I believe some flights have been cancelled and ticket prices reduced! Not a good start, but hopefuly will improve...

Any feedback on how Ozjet is fairing in the market place? Heard loads are down and they are now offering a two for one deal or something along those lines.Any crew out there care to comment on how things are.

hi!

Im not crew but I saw in todays paper that some flights only have 3 people on them. I suppose it will pick up when people start back at work in the next few weeks. :)

I got a call today from Ozjet in MEL asking if I would like an interview... I filled out the online application over a year ago!

Anyway I declined as I am off to Perth but obviously if they are recruiting people they believe they have a chance of survival? The woman on the phone was lovely and seemed upbeat.

Funny thing is that they have (temporarily?) cut back their schedule - only one or two flights on some days. If Ozjet originally planned on having eight flights in each direction (Mon-Fri) then wouldn't they have a surplus of crew?

Possibly some have become unnerved and found security elsewhere! I know the negative press has probably put the willies up some of them and a few o/s airlines have been on a recruitment binge lately.

The 2 for 1 deal is actually great value, did a couple of dummy bookings and you can actually just book ret and pay for one way. Still not as cheap as our disc. but any non industry folks should give it a go (or staff not eligible for J/C u/grd) 249.00 ret, not bad really!

Had a look on the Ozjet website & it said they were commencing MEL -PER next month once a day,6 days a week. I was curious as to how things are shaping at OZ as they have been in the air over 2 months and was considering applying. Does anyone have any info on say how many days off, duty hours and generally the feel within the business at present?:D

Had much the same question as Gloria, but also wondered how you apply? Understand they are interviewing in Melbourne?

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve.
