Do QFI's get any credit in the civilian world for their instructional experience ?

Fully aware of all the ATPL accreditation for Mil Pilots, just wondering on the instructional side.

They really ought to be and IMHO they shouldn't have to prove anything to to some well meaning civilian in order to have the ticket.

I'm reliably informed that as an A2, you can do a check with a civvy FI and wind up as a civvy FI yourself.

It's all in LASORs.

If you do a check ride with the CAA examiner you can get a FI rating either single or ME depending on what you do the test on.

Other than that the CAA require that you complete the core course prior to undertaking any instruction in an airline. Normal progression would be start as a line training captain, then TRI then TRE eventually.

Selection for those posts is based on the airline's own criteria.

The accreditation is indeed within LASORS. Any aspirant civil FI should research the subject for him/herself as if intending to become a civil FI, he/she should be familiar with the joys (?) of the civil world's rules.
