Hi, I hold a little green card (FAA PPL) based and issued on the basis of a foreign licence such as a UK PPL.

The FAA PPL was issued over 2 yeas ago and never been used (ie: I never flew in the USA when I recieved it). Now two years has expired since its issue, I am still fully current with regard to my own JAA PPL, am I required to take a FAA BFR or can I go ahead and fly state side?

Any advice on this appreciated.

Genius747,

As far as I know, would however need to be checked on the FAA website, you can go over to the states, fly a BFR and off you go. I did that in Florida with exactly the same circumstances as yourself.

The BFR consisted of a flight to the local FAA offices where my licence was 're-endorsed' and the BFR signed off. Kicked the instructor out at the FBO and went merrily off on my own way.

Hope that helps

Yes, you will need to take a Flight Review.

You don't have to go to the US.

You can find an FAA CFI in Europe, wherever you are, and he/she can do it.
