Hi Guys.....

I've been meaning to post this here for quite some time now...

I'm not a pilot but my husband is, he works for Emirates and he suggested that i post something here about ....

Fostering (Don't stop reading :) )

AS you may know Feline Friends is the local help network for cats and of late they have been on the radio calling for Fosters which might lead people to think that ... if they are advertising on the radio they must have a whole bunch of fosters working with them....

The awful truth is that INSPITE of all the media coverage they have been getting they only have a DOZEN, that's correct, 12.... just 12 people who help look after all the cats and kittens that they find.

As a result entire litters of kittens are left to starve on the streets or euthanized.

Fostering is not hard. In fact Feline Friends makes it very easy for foster parents.

They take care of veterinary expenses should your foster cat get ill. If you leave for a holiday while you are fostering they will look after the cat while you are away. You can choose wether you would like to foster an adult cat OR a kitten. They will actively seek out foster parents for you.

All you need to do as a foster is provide food, water, kitty litter and of course, lots of hugs and kisses.

Me and my husband have been fostering for sometime now and we can assure you that it is not hard. And it is a very rewarding experience. We have our own 3 cats and they enjoy the novelty of having kittens around... :)

PLEASE take a moment to seriously consider becoming a foster parent. With a small amount of effort you can stop a cat or a kitten from being put down or put back on the streets...

12 foster parents is just not enough to take care of all the kittens and cats in Dubai. Feline Friends is seriously in need of foster parents...

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent PLEASE contact me at:
[email protected]

PS- For dog lovers the same applies...
PPS- I hope this was not an inappropriate post...

Here are 4 cats in desperate need of foster homes....

They have been spayed/neutered, and are ready to go to new homes.

In fact the 6 month quarantine rule has been relaxed for pets that meet the correct requirements (microchipes, blood tests etc). With a "pet passport" you pet can travel straight into the UK with you- which is something to consider for everybody considering leaving the sandpit.

Feline Friends do a great job with no official help and deserve our full support. Makes a change from reading all the negative stuff on this forum, even if it isn't strictly aviation related.:D

Just in case anyone needs it

We brought all 3 of our cats with us when we came to Dubai. I really don\'t understand why people leave their pets behind....

Before we left dozens of people asked us... so what are you going to do with your cats?? :* :suspect:

It was quite an alien concept for a lot of people we knew that we were actually going to bring our cats with us....

Hmmmmmm...

Can't help at the moment as I am in another country but I would like to congratulate you on what you do. I have many "guests" at the moment. If I end up there, and I am looking, I will contact you.

hey you can try this company
they specialize in pet transport
"[email protected]" <[email protected]>,
we used them to move our cats....
might be cheaper for you to board the cat though...
dubai kennels and cattery are quite "luxurious" by pet standards.
