All four operators in the V&A Waterfront were served the following letter from the Harbour Master (National Ports Authority)
HELICOPTERS FLYING OVER THE HARBOUR AREA
We are concerned that your helicopters are flying at a low altitude over the harbour area.
This poses a threat to the vessels, oil rigs, etc within the harbour. National Ports Authority has a duty of care and is required by legislation to ensure the safety of people and vessles in the harbour, Port of Cape Town.
It is requested that your pilots refrain from over flying the harbour at low altitude with immediate effect.
This serves as final notification.
Failure to adhere to this request will resort us to take action in this regard.
Your cooperation in this regard will be appreciated.
