View Full Version : GB Airways Monthly Roster

I would appreciate it very much if a member of GB Airways cabin crew could be kind enough to give me some idea of a typical monthly roster. I have all the information about destinations, flight times and schedules but would like to know how this information translates into "real life"!

Two interviews coming up at the end of November and there are (informed, I hope!) decisions to be made.....

Many, many thanks-

O.S.B.

Hi there,

Typical is a hard word to use at GB Airways, but i will try and help, in the summer you will end up doing anything from 32-40 sectors a month, on a 6 on 2 off basis, sounds alot and can be hard, but the service is so so easy.

In the winter things are alot quieter, for example this month I have 18 sectors, as the winter charters hav'nt started yet, so there will probably be alot more sitting around!

Hope that helps you a bit.

The MAN base rosters seem to be fairly slack around 20 sectors per month on average and generally very stable -- not much messing around or late changes or standby call-outs.

Nice and friendly too -- both cabin crew and flight deck !

Hi GB guys and gals.

Just wondered do you guys do any night/day stops and as a rough estimate what is your take home pay each month?

Thanks

well done for getting the job x GB chick x! Swift change of name there.....

I've just joined too as an f/o in LGW and my girlfriend is on a cabin crew course on April 10th. From the little bit i've seen so far it seems to be a great place to work and everyone is really friendly.

Are you joining from another airline or is this your 1st airline job?

Anyway, good luck for the course and i look forward to making you a tea on a turnaround soon!

Hi, all-
I initiated this thread in November- seems like a very long time ago!
But tomorrow, 1 April, I am doing my first supernumery flight with GB!!
The training was fascinating but very, very exhausting! So much to learn! No doubt from the very beginning it is best to put everything else on hold and give the classes 110% concentration. But it was a fantastic 5 weeks and I have met some amazing people both in my training group and throughout the Beehive.
CRM, what is it- we haven't "met" yet but I want to thank you again for your replies back in November. I had a choice of jobs and from what I have experienced so far I am very glad to be here!
Beauport Potato Man- congratulations on your new position. I'm sure your girlfriend will find her training course as interesting and exciting as I did :D !

GB Chick why GB Airways and not BA ?

I did apply to BA a couple of weeks ago and they turned me down. Didn't even get to an assessment day!

Maybe i wasn't BA material

I do have a dilemma at the moment.. and wondering if anyone could help...
I begin my training on 1st May for 5 weeks, i think i finish the 1st week in june. My best friend is getting married in June and i'm her chief bridesmaid. I completely forgot about this in the interview (Nerves)
I'm now really worried about being turned down as i will have to miss 2 days. I have already cancelled a holiday we had booked in June, which has caused some upset with my friends.
I tried calling GB yesterday but offices were closed. I would appreciate some advice on what to say, Are you able to swap shifts with eachother?..

Sorry guys but i'm really worried they will say no, i really want the job but i really really can't miss the wedding

Try calling them in the week and explain your situation... They're a great bunch and giving them such advance warning should make it easy to sort....
