Hiya,

Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on the new Scotish Air Ambulance with the King Airs with regard to lifestyle, flying they do, pay. Just a general overview.

Any info greatly appreciated.

The King Airs are operated by Gama Aviation on contract to the Scottish Ambulance Service

There have been some interviews recently since they need more crews. There is no roster as such since you are on standby but you are sometimes given a bit of advance warning that you will be flying. Do expect to be called at any hour of the day since this is a H24 operation.

The flying can be fun and varied with lots of short sectors but not ideal if you are wanting to build hours since the flying seems to be sporadic in nature but no doubt they will get busier.

They are getting brand new B200s in a Day-Glo yellow colour scheme. It will really look like a flying ambulance! Just need some blue strobes!!!

I have never flown for them but know a couple of guys that have... they seemed to have enjoyed it!
