The fashion chain Primark was left counting the costs of a blaze that completely destroyed a warehouse and offices at Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

Nearly four million garments were destroyed. Insurers are bracing themselves for a claim in excess of 100,000.

Shoe warehouse fire near here - great tragedy.

People of style and taste everywhere will rejoice at such wonderful news! And no, I was in Somerset.....................all night.

Grannies in Belfast will be weeping at the horror of it all, where on earth will they find tat of the same quality (!?) to buy for their little darling grandchildren for christmas?

I was talking to the booking in dept of a well known american warehouse club business who are on the same estate as Prixmarce & they reckoned the sprinkler system was u/s - naughty if true.:rolleyes:

According to this morning's press, Primark shares have shot up, because they are no longer lumbered with unsold Autumn stock, unlike almost every other retailer.

It's an ill wind.......
