Reported in the news that an Air NZ 767 landed at AKL with a nosewheel that was damaged on T/O in HKG. Anyone know any more?

Probably a mistake trying to get on board during T/O though.

Pakeha Boy,

you are not getting any better are you?

your posts seem to show consistent empahasis on the 'boy' part of your handle.

I doubt you are building much credibility for the pakeha either.

Information that I heard (unconfirmed) is that the flight crew heard a very unusual noise on gear retraction and thought there could be a problem with the nose gear. Discretion is the better part of valour and had engineering check visually prior to touchdown. No cockpit indicators indicating any problems. Safe outcome. Not the big drama that the media portrayed saying that there was a "stricken airliner" circling Auckland. A media beat-up perhaps with the recent Airbus in the States.
