Very interesting article in THE LOG concerning, amongst other things, pay on the North Sea compared to Fixed Wing.
We were historically paid 10-15% below the fixed wing average. If we adopt the figure of 15% below the fixed wing average we have a payscale as below.

FO 1 £30k rising in £1.5k increments to FO 10 £43.5k.

Capt 1 £48k rising in £1k increments to Capt 20 £68k.

This is a very simple payscale which could be put to both companies via Balpa and indicates the rates which we should currently be paid.
As I said the payscale is very simple but perhaps requires a couple of notes,
1. The rank of SFO is consinged to the same place as our current payscales-last century.
2. No location allowances payable-standard payscale across all bases.
3. Captains not in command-salary reduces by difference between Capt 1 and FO 10, in this case £4.5k.

Print this out, fill in the blanks, what do you think?
