Hi all,

I'm telecommunication engineer (32) and I get work proposal (permanent) in my field in Warrington.

Could anybody give me advice if in this location is a chance to work an train PPL and CPL (H) on weekends.

For CPL I have founds, but I'm wondering if sallary 35K/year is enough to live with wife and one kid, rent an apartment and have any savings?

I be gratefull for any advice.

Regards

Tomasz

Hi Tomasz,

£35K will not get you a lavish lifestyle but should allow you to do a PPL at Liverpool or Barton. I was not earning a lot more than that when I did my PPL and bought my own aircraft - but that's a few years ago. I guess what I am saying is that if you want it badly enough, what you propose is possible if you dont rush it. Forget saving though, you will likely end up borrowing, at least in the short term. Just keep it manageable. Find out if you will earn more as a CPL before you get your CPL licence and change jobs!

PS. I have recently taken on a Polish assistant. He is doing fine and likes the UK.
