Hello,

Could someone please tell me, is it true that once you have retired from flying you still need to take courses at a flying school to maintain your licence? I am referring to pilots who have flown small aircrafts such as Cessna planes. Thank you for your replies. Best wishes

And Yes, I am aware of retired 747 pilots that have needed an endorsment on the lowly Jabiru and C172. I'm told that both the instructor and "student" enjoyed the experience!

I doubt it was an endorsment. the "S/E aircraft not exeeding 5700kgs" rule has been about longer than the jabiru, so I would hazard a guess at it being a simple check out . possibly just a currency flight as a lot of the blokes flying heavies dont fly the little ones all that often.
