As impatient as I am (it's been 4 days - well, it is a lifestyle change), I'm waiting to know the outcome.

Does any1 know how long it takes? & how they usually inform you?

This question may have been asked plenty, but do GF hire boys for Cabin Crew?

According to thier webiste they are only lookng for people aged '20-35 years and female', yet i am sure i have seen male cabin crew in the GF uniform before?

I too am interested in any extra info you might be able to provide GFFA.

Yes they do have males flight attendants but only Bahrainis and Omanis. They recruit boys of other nationalities only as inflight chefs.
In Gulf Air you work many hours, not always to nice destinations. You have minimum rest everywhere.Only in Europe you have 24 hours rest. You will leave in a building with 24 hours security and any guest you have they have to sign in and must leave at midnight. They always have new rules and regulations to make your life miserable.Your salary will be an average of 1300USD.Any complain from passenger you are called in the office and ....good luck to you.And believe me,indian passengers(they are 90% of gf passengers)complain a lot for any small thing!

WENT Yesterday to the "interview" with gulf air got there early and as i was handing in my application form they told me that i couldn't carry on because i have a slight scar on my knee - it is hardly visible. But they said "sorry no scars allowed" I feel this is totally unfair because they didn't even give me a chance to prove myself to them. I think this is absolutely ridiculous. This scar is hardly visible and to be just turned away because of that is outrageous.
so anyone out there who is wanting to apply to gulf air - make sure you don't have ANY marks ANY where on your body!!

hey there!

i went for a gulf air interview a while back, just make sure you are immaculatly groomed, ex hair, make-up, nails, they will also check your teeth.
the interview i went to,
we had a group task, ask person next to you Qs about themselv and stand up and tell the group, then you have a kind of exam, just there rules and stuff and you have to find and select the right answer.

then... its the grooming, 2 women take you into a room and check everything about you.
we got told if we fail it, it will be on the grooming, i failed

I saw on aviationjobsearch that Gulf air is hiring in Canada soon
It says to apply online to "secure" an invitation for the open day, and I don't know if I should or not
You guys who had interviews with Gulf air applied online and got invitations or was it just a walk in?
Someone I know applied online and got rejected recently meaning she can't apply for six months.. now I'm scared to apply online=(

Apply online! You can just go on the day - but to make matters easier just apply online and they will send you all the forms. Just make sure that you dont' have any scars anywhere because you will go to the interview and they won't even interview you they will just kick you out there and then. They had the interviews here in JHB on saturday and lots of girls just pitched up with no forms and it took forever - so to make it easier just get your forms.

what exactly is a scar by their definition?
I had lots of scabs due to scratching and now they've turn into light discolorations
are these considered as scars too?
I also have a tiny tiny chicken pox mark on my forehead, is this not allowed?

What are the benefits like at Gulf air?
I've heard some bad stuff and don't know if I should apply at all, esp. if they are going to reject me for small scars!

Yeah well that is the question i suppose. I have a slight scar on my right knee due to an op that i had about 8 years ago. There was absolute NO consideration about it it was just a flat out "no" because of this scar. It is hardly visible but they seem to be really strict about it. Give it a try - you might get someone else that will be more lenient - but who knows? It seems to be a big issue for them though. But give it a try - you never know!
