Good afternoon Ppruners.
Back from the Sunny Isle 44deg in shade, however some nasty person set fire to a very secret area around some Army arms dump, caused more than a little heartburn for the Greek Mil types who quickley got into gear with what looked like a Wessex or something like that with a bucket underneath( from the Brits at Akriteri), this helped to extinguish the 6 sq mile blaze along with some water bombers I think from Greece and possibly Israel( can't confirm the latter), the Cyprus Government has now been offered free of charge for a period of I am told 6 months two big mother Russian Helis said to have a water dumping cap of 20 tonnes each, cant find out what they are though, anybody any ideas or further info !, Nice to see the British mil Gazelles showing their Belly flags to all below, good to see the Cypriots will take the help to put out fires, but yet complain to the world when our mil want to erect a new antena to listen to old Saddam, and chums.
The loan Helis will be operated by the Greek Mil with NVG systems fitted, civvie pilot's not allowed to use NVG in Cyprus
