CASA delegations indemnity gone??

Are there any concerns out there in the industry regarding CASA's proposal to remove the indemnity for CASA "Authorised Persons' and "Delegates" against prosecution currently being protected under CAAP Admin 1?

Is the industry aware of the ramifications of this proposal?

If this is removed, CAR 35 authorised persons and ATOs will need to find professional indemnity insurance that will probably be upward of $10,000 and possibly closer to $50,000.

Is this acceptable for doing CASA's work and is the industry responding to this issue?

So one of the only growth sectors of GA, Experimental Category, will be hit with this quite hard. Most AP's as I understand it do their work for free or travel costs and the SAAA cover them insurance wise, so what does this mean for them?? Are we talking the same issue here?

If so and I hope not you will find it very hard to get an RV or Jabiru into the air in the future!
