Does anyone have contact details for any one at the CAA that could give me the low down on obtaining an AOC for scheduled ops in SA.

Any kindly people know of a name and direct number?

You can try the switchboard on 011 - 545 1000 and ask for Debbie Taylor but be prepared to wait something like 30 minutes for an answer...if is gets answered at all....

Or you can call Debbie Taylor direct on 012 - 545 1178 however she always appears to be too busy to pick up the phone. ( I found her very helpfull once you have her on the blower).

Otherwise if all else fails call Pule direct on 083 635 0060 - he is always helpfull only when he answers his cell.

The best bet if you have some coin to spend is to contact Mari from FJC Aviation. This lady is tops. She gets it done quickly. Her number is 012 - 332 3617.

The issue of and initial AOC is the combined task of the Air Service Licencing Council, Dept. of Transport and the CAA.

Contact Arthur Downs at Flight Ops for an overview of the procedure and Mari at FJC is probably the easiest way to get through all the hurdles (paper work) which has to be legally correct.

And you will need some luck.
