Just posing a question in this thread as it seems like a pertinent one, is there a FAA-JAA conversion for a type rating?

Good Question, depending on WHERE the type rating is completed in the US / Canada , after giaing 500 hours on type, the UK CAA will then endorse your UK/ JAA licence (subject to £ fee) with the type rating.
