Travel Insurance

What are some of the companies that offer travel insurance for airline staff...when they are on holidays (off duty) As we are able to travel more extensivly on our off days/ leave etc. are there comapnies that cater to multiple holidays throughout the year as apposed to buying insurance for each individual holiday we make.

i am based in Dubai, but could also maybe get it through Oz. I would possibly be looking at getting it for a year. Does everyone do this? I hear that the UK has a lot of companies...

(Our company provides insurance for us on layovers, and also when we are at home!)

Most travel insurance don't cover airline crew while they are on duty. You can get coverage though for your personal trips. Not sure about yours but usually most airlines take care of the uneventualities the crew face on duty trips, such as medica.

There one I would recommend to have is to cover temporary disability due to accident, since cabin crew are paid for trips they do, and a serious one can set you back for weeks. Some companies cover accident whist at work and some do not. You have to clarify that. Claims are usually based on the number of days of medical leave.

I'm not cabin crew.... yet, I am a travel agent. I travel at least a dozen times a year and have an annual policy.

It costs about AUD$570 per year and covers me for an unlimited number of trips per year. Each trip cannot exceed one month. I doubt it cover you whilst actually on a layover but it would definately cover you for all your personal trips.

The cover is really good!

Luggage - $20,000
Cameras - $3,500
Lap Tops - $3,500
Plus accidental death, personal liability, rental car excess and all the usual stuff...

if you're going thru oz you can use Flysure. They are $69 per year for unlimited trips.
I'm not sure on what their level of cover is but I have used them before and they've been good.
