From reading the forums it appears that there are a lot of unhappy pilots in the airline industry. I am not condemming that, as airlines are just like any other job - you have good points, bad points and really crappy points, however, as a 'wanna be', there must be some good things about flying for Q, VB or Jstar?

Given that the IR debarcle may change the entire Aussie workforce (not just the airline indsustry) and that things might turn sour..there still must be some 'up side' to your jobs. Are you still passionate about it? What do you think makes being an airline pilot a good job?

It doesn’t matter which of the 3 camps you are in, but unlike most other professions, every year our conditions and salaries are attacked by management. The result is unhappy people! Unfortunately QF blame J* and VB, VB blame J* and call all QF w@ankers, J* wonder how they were forced to work for the lowest $ around. Until we all get together and stop the divide and conquer tactics, conditions will never improve. Sadly, this is the reason more and more pack up and head overseas. I also suspect the downturn in GA training is a result of the poor conditions one can expect at the end. Good luck!
