Dear Friends,
I want to share the experience of one of my friend who is a Pilot with Air India.
He is flying B747. Since Last Two and a Half years he is working like a slave. No paid leave or casual leave has been granted in Air India. There is no family life at all. Wives are complaining that if you come home for laundry then don't come at all. Better to do it in the hotel itself and send a cheque at the end of month.
There is no career progression in Air India. First to join one has to pay bribe as well as Rs. Two Five Hundred Thousand to the company to get endorsement. Then one has to wait for minimum 10 years to get command on the basic aircraft. While in other airlines one gets command in approximately 4 to 5 years.
The working environment is badly affected because non-professional people are managing the company and they prefer to get pilot from outside of the country rather than trained their own co-pilots for the command. Because top management who recruit the foreign pilots are getting cut from the foreign pilots per month.
Recently DGCA has made a rule that no pilot can leave a company without giving a 6 months notice. A few pilots given the 6 months notice to the company but after lapsing 6 months company is not leaving the pilots and threatening the pilots by holding and not paying their savings (Like Provident Fund & Gratuity etc) to them. It is total blackmail on the part of Air India.
This all happening because of Unprofessional Management.
Requesting comments how to handle such situation.
