I’ve just seen a ghost!
Ten minutes ago a strange whistle came over the house. Higher note than the usual turbofans of the trash haulers and tankers going into Mildenhall, Not a Mudhen, either (too quiet). So I looked out and… it was… one of these.

Never seen one before, may never see one again. I thought they had all gone long ago, but a bit of Googling suggests that one survivor is in service, a former RB-57F now operated as a WB-57.
“63-13298 was transferred to NASA in 1974 and renumbered NASA 928. It operates as an air sampler for the Department of Energy.”
Further suggestions that its application is to sniff around for illicit nuclear weapons tests.
Any thoughts?
