fortunately seems no one was hurt seriously....but seems the pilots were grilled for 5 hours by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) :(

Guys who flew there yestrday said there was a bit of a tail wind ??? looks like he went of the end of runway.

landed in there this afternoon, saw her about 500 to 1000 feet beyond the end of runway 27. looked pretty well bogged down in the mud, must still be quite bad after all that rain. slides are out as you can see from the picture in the link.

news is now reporting that another sahara aircraft made an "emergency landing back into delhi after it developed an engine snag"

Oh God!
Such wonderful reporting by The telegraph! "Lladies and Gentlemen-we are forced to circle for half an hour as the passengers for the return flight have not yet had their chance to drink their morning cuppah because of non availabililty of coffee machines in the adjacent terminal".


Sure nomination for next year's Pulitzer!

And I also guess that Mid Day being Mid Day, the poor chap was trying to say that the pilot in question would have till the incident time,still not managed to the 50th rubber stamp in his DGCA endorsement!
