Sorry for a repost - I am just wondering whether anyone is aware of any database of helicopter operators in the UK? This is in addition to the thread at:

http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=192997

and

http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=2138460#post2138460

in which I have only received responses regarding fixed-wing airlines? If anyone knows of the full JAA link aforementioned in the links as well, I would be extremely grateful!

Many thanks in advance!

In my opinion the best thing to do is contact the BHAB and get their industry directory. It has lists of all helo operators in the UK as well as their contact details etc.

In response to your original request about airlines generally, and a CAA List try

http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?categoryid=183&pagetype=90&pageid=340

Most of the helicopter AOC holders appear in the type B operators list.

http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?categoryid=183&pagetype=90&pageid=508

There's a fairly comprehensive list of weblinks to helicopter operators here

http://www.griffin-helicopters.co.uk/links.php#AOC%20Operators

Great links via Griffin but one almighty error ...

I clicked the link marked McDonnell Douglas and zapped straight into MDHI......

.... not an Apache to be seen!

I think though, that BHAB only lists their members so the list may not be comprehensive.

Many thanks for the links - really useful!

Are there any other trade bodies such as the BHAB in the helicopter world as well?

Helicopter Association International

US Based and leaning towards the US and only a small number of UK members but even so a major part of its membership is outside the USA. Its databases include a search facility of MEMBERS at...

www.rotor.com

The 'Helicopter Annual' handbook they give away at shows is a sought after item for background material in a handy form - as is the BHAB version.

This reinforces the original question - and it is true there does not seem to be a finite up to date list of UK operators [the good and the bad] all in one place. But such a list is probably practically impossible to compile
and keep up to date.
