No surprise with that news I'm afraid, always looked a bit of a dream for this one plane outfit.

Winter flights to Florida out with school holidays was never going to prove popular.

Good on them for giving it a go though and good sense to pull out before losing anyones money.

Thought that generally the market is there for an operation like this, good price charter flights Scotland-Florida. However, not sure whether the execution was right?

They decided not to go with travel agents. This, whether a good descision or not, immediately puts them at a great disadvantage to the rest of the charter market. This means they would have to work twice as hard to get their name out there, and recognised. The website was poor, very poor. Didn't even look professional, before we start with the lack of functionality etc... I don't live in Scotland, can anyone enlighten us as to what the marketing was like? Billboards, newspapers, radio spots?

Could Travel City Direct be a possible replacement ?

They have a Summer program from GLA, and as they are also part of the Avion group - they could also use the Excel 767.

Next winter MYT will probably operate the A330 to Orlando once a week or maybe twice, they currently in the summer do 2 or 3 flights a week from GLA to SFB and FCA might also start it with there new Star Class 767, in the summer they fly twice weekly GLA-SFB.

jmc757,

Marketing was pretty poor, on the east coast of Scotland anyway. We had a small ad in the local paper, no radio mentions and even the spotters at the airport were slow on the news!!!!

It is a pity, but it just shows there's not much of a market for this route in the winter at the mo.....
