Degree Aviation UNSW

Hi
Looking at improving qualifications; looked at UNSW for aviation degree; is it worth spending 3 years and $30K? currently employed charter, 1000H piston but getting bored and uncertain about future once reaching mid 50's(still some time away) is ATPL better way to go? Applied to Bristow for CO job but no luck so far. Any ideas?

Beware, researched the credentials of an aviation degree advertised in FI and found out that it was not worth blah blah. Admittedly, it was one achieved by converting your trg/experience into a Masters (or for an extra £500, you could get an honours)
Can't see the point of it myself, what are you trying to achieve?
What 'edge' will this degree give you?
Surely, your licence is an impressive enough portfolio.
Spend the money on women instead, or boys if you don't fly turbines:-)

Go for your ATPL and IREX) first. By far!
After a 5 to 10 years in the industry, if you get bored, look at University then because your licence level, and experience will count toward some of the credits. By that stage, you might find the airline orientated stuff interesting. Prior to that, few (if any) of the employers you will be chasing will have the degree anyway, therefore they are unlikely to respect such training, and may even be intimidated by it! So I vote with EEDSL, use your cash to defrock women (or boys) now, and get that ATPL and IREX.

Thanks for the prompt reply. It reinforces my instincts not to pursue Degrees right now. As far as turbine work, well OZ is limited in available positions. And I like Women by the way.....
