On BBC Northwest this morning - a major UK airline is putting a base into Blackpool, announcement today. Does anyone know who it is?

Monarch are starting to operate into Blackpool as of November. I do believe sales have been exceptional so watch this space.

Just found this in another forum. Had a look on the website but nothing jumps out at me saying jet 2 are moving into blackpool. Perhaps the origonal poster knows something we don\'t (0935am).

That all depends on what a/c type you're using of course, but it looks like Belfast, Murcia and Palma are in reach with the Jet2 737's, those are the launch routes announced this morning.

Hmz. shame that Monarch and Jet2 don't operate the same routes.. than we would really could see who the general public prefer to fly with... Even though my bet is on MON.;)
Time will tell....
