UK ATPLH and Gyrocopters

I have a national UK ATPL H (national). Any ideas what I would need to do to get a gyrocopter on my licence?

If it helps, an ATP rating for Gyroplanes is no longer available in the United States.
Several years ago, the FAA revised Part 61 and toyally eliminated all references to ATP Gyro.
The logic was that no Part 121 Gyro existed, so the tests and rating were redundant.
Sorry, no info about "Mother Country" rules.

I did investigate this a few years ago (prior to JAR-FCL 2). I was told that the UK ATPL(H) was in fact, effectively, an ATPL(H/G): i.e. it covered gyroplanes. You needed to do a gyroplane rating course. Didn't pursue it at the time (I came to my senses??) but it might all have been changed with the advent of JAR. I don't think there are any public transport certified gyroplanes in the UK, but I may well be wrong.

Call Scotia Helicopters at North Humberside and ask for the whereabouts of F/O Woody DeSaar and he will be abl to help you out.

Last time I talked to Woody he was liasing with the CAA with regards to becoming a Auto-Gyro Examiner, He also had close ties with Mr Benson at one point.

thanks for the input everyone. On close examination of my license it does say Helicopters AND Gyroplanes so I guess a type rating should suffice.

Am I mad to want to gyrocopter? Well thats another question!?
