I've recently landed an interview with a major offshore operator.
With a current JAA CPL(H), ATPL(H) exams passed and a good bit more experience than the required minimums I hope to stand a chance at getting a FO position eventually.
However, I am one of the many that have done my training in the U.S. and of course also my IR. Since there are very few, very expensive, courses around in Europe I have not yet been able to "convert" my FAA IR to a JAA IR.
The operator has been made aware of my current lacking qualifications, but they apparently still choose to give me an interview.
This has made me wonder if I should be happy to finally get an interview, or sad because whatever happens I still won't be able to fly without getting that IR converted. My question is simply this, if I should somehow manage to do well during the interviews and make a good impression to the point that I might be considered fit to join their ranks, what will they do?
1. Tell me to go get the IR finished and then come back for a position?
2. Tell me that they will be able to sponsor me through an IR course?
3. Tell me that I will be doing the IR course in-house?
Any solid advise/opinion or wild speculation much appreciated. :ok:
