BAe146 maintenance is carried out at InFlite Aviation on the northern side of the airfield. It's quite regular really.

Actually both were diversions from London City.

So they weren't BAe146s then... (if they came from LCY)

;)

Errrrrrrr why wouldn't they be BAe146's from LCY? The type is a regular into LCY?

Yes they were both 146's from LCY, though they diverted in for different reasons.

The first arrived because of bad weather at LCY, the second diverted in because of an engine problem.

We also had a Wizz Air and Helios from LTN due to the foggy conditions.

Brightened up a dull morning!

They were probably Avro RJ100s and not Bae 146s :8

ILS for Rwy 28 at LCY is out of action for another two weeks so I'm not surprised.

Actually they are RJ 100's they are based either at LCY or EDI to do the route, did they have old style tails or are they painted with the New Standard Tail ?

Only GBZAW and GBZAX have tails left in the old colours and these aren't steep approach modified so wouldn't have been these at STN- all the rest have been done by Sprayavia at NWI. The Embraer 145's will follow in NOV with GEMBG. The RJ maintenance is done on the IOM whilst the remaining 146's GGNTZ/GMANS/GMABR/GOINV are at STN - GMIMA now flies for Cityjet in basic Air France colours.

I love nothing better when being told that the RJ100 will give way etc replying with, and the 146 is giving way, it really gets up some of those guys noses, ITS A 146 (with tellys), big deal, get over it!

Just like a 737-300 is a 737, and a 737-700 is a 737!!:O

ezydriver . . .

Understand what you mean but when it comes to pilot ratings, they are seperate aircraft.

Actually the plate on the aircrfaft says 146-RJ100

So its what ever floats your boat.

The type rating is the same, and you can fly both types actually, as long as the operating company have a differences programme.

CX choose not to, apart from some instructors.

And rest!!
