So which rear end propulsion version do you prefer out of the above. Comments would be appreciated.

You forgot None, if flying counterrotating hehe (Kaman) :)

For me, I'll take any of 'em, as long as I'm flying!

Fair Comment, also forgot the ones like the Chinook, B-234 and 107. Wonder if there are any KMAX pilots here.

Does Huskie pilot count? I have a few hours in the Kaman H-43 in a logging operation. Great machine hope to be able to start flying it full time this summer

How bout Kamov drivers , are the ones in BC only flown by Russian pilots ?.

Those Kamov KA-32s are very interesting machines. Id love to see one fly.

I heard they can lift 13,000lb if allowed.

Well they will certainly be rush'n up and down the hill. :) Okay sorry about that one, but I just couldn't resist.

When I was in Sydney a year ago, I talked with a guy from Hevi-lift who flew the 32, and he loved it. He said it was a great long-lining platform. I'd love to fly one on fires.

cheers

pass me another cold stubby, and lather me up with sunscreen love !! :)

I believe that the two Kamovs used in BC for logging are flown by Canadians but are serviced by Russians, that come out to BC on a two year stint.

interesting? No-one has answered the question, yet...not even the instigator!!

Just before you ask! There can be nothing between them no matter which way you come at the subject. Performance / protection / failure....or is there?

Question answered, now can we get back to wandering off the subject...please.. :)

I have found that the Fenestron ( both pre-mod Gazelle and post mod ) very satisfying to fly, both in response and accuracy to input.
The Naked tail rotor of the Lynx performed well ( sometimes missing a few inches) but the BO 105 with it's asymmetric tail rotor blades was a star with it's quick response and control feel. The NOTAR is a different beast altogether, it works in a different way and is not so precise due to airflow and it's compressibility physics.
The COANDA effect works very well, and is a very clever way of off loading the main rotor torque effect no matter what the power setting.

Could you explain, as simply as possible, what the COANDA effect is?
Thanks
