That portable joystick is the Barrett Model 82A1 (.50), designed to ensure complete and unquestioning compliance with the "fasten seat belt" sign at all times... Also a great aid in convincing your co-workers to keep the flight deck clean. :E

Bit of overkill for the short range stuff down the back of a 747, isn't it?

Perhaps more suited to getting priority clearance to taxi from the tower......:E
