Longest sentence was 13 years and some as short as 8 years.
For trying to steal 33 million??

Don't do much to deter hoodlums trying to get rich quick.

Its a lot stricter now. It was only a few years ago when they would have been sent on a cruise to an Island paradise!!! Never quite understood the British logic in doing that though.

Ooooer! Gave me quite a turn. I thought they were going to put up the price of coffee in the "RipOff Snax R Us" again.

Don;

Stricter? Well yes it is in some ways but the train robbers got 30 years apiece in 1964.

The prison population is close to double what it was 25 years ago.

The big difference is that these jokers were trying to steal £33 million. They didn't get a penny.

The great train robbers got away with their ill-gotten gains and refused to hand any of it back.
