Anyone know where I can find a list of American Low Cist Airlines? I need to fly to San Diego and none of the Major Airlines fly there direct from the UK!!

I had no idea either,so started with a google search for "San Diego Airport schedules",which gave me this---------

http://www.san.org/airport/flights/flight_info.asp

Looks like Jet Blue from JFK,or Southwest from Chicago. Obviously you have to look for ex UK flights to these!

JFK probably best,as taking Southwest would mean an airport switch O'Hare-Midway.

BA to Phoenix, then Southwest or America West to SAN. $50 o/w.

Maybe, but you can get the cheapest flights to the US by going to New York, and thereby the longest LOW COST flight onward, with potentially the biggest saving. Haven't checked the financial aspect however.

I don't really think BA to Phoenix would rate as a cost saver!

Southwest does two non-stops a day each way between Balltimore and San Diego and at least one one-stop, no change of plane.

BA does LHR to Baltimore IIRC.

No change of airport is needed at Baltimore, though international arrivals and Southwest are at opposite ends of the terminal. Baltimore is a major site for Southwest with about 164 departures per day. WN logo plane (half of Maryland state flag)

Actually surprised me--- From the BA website----

9-16 OCt £420
BUT!
27 Sep--1 OCT £1247!!!!

Certainly a possibility if you choose your dates carefully.

I'm not going to go through all the possibilities, but I would if I was travelling!

BUT!
27 Sep--1 OCT £1247!!!!The latter price is, in part, because there is no Saturday night stay, so the lower fares aren't valid. Also 27 September is very busy outbound so only the top fare is available.

So 29 Sep - 1 Oct (which also doesn't include a Saturday night) is also £1427, but 29 Sep - 2 Oct (which does include a Saturday night) is therefore £505.

This is a pretty decent list.

http://www.flybudget.com/northamericavisit.html

You can then click through to each airline website to see their routemaps.

Another way is to fly to LAX, and drive down. It isn`t too far just over 100 miles or catch one of the many commuter flights between LAX and SAN, it use to be hourly/half hourly being operated by AA and UA.
