Does anyone know of any on-line site where you can input departure and destination locations and it will give you en route distance?

Maybe not what you are quite looking for but www.theaa.co.uk (http://www.theaa.co.uk) and www.rac.co.uk (http://www.rac.co.uk) both have rather good routefinders.
