After messing around with helicopters for a coulpe of years now I have realized that it is so hard to get work within this industry.

goose boy,
Not knowing your details, I would say check the minimum requirements.
Try here. Air Atlantique (http://www.atlanticdhg.com/sitvac.asp)
I tried to get in on this sponsorship but failed at the first stage.

Keep checking here Oxford Aviation Training (http://www.oxfordaviation.net/)
You have just missed out on the Excel and Thomas Cook schemes, but I would expect more in the future.

Also, just look around airlines web-sites. As I am sure that you are aware, sponsorships are few and far between, so plan to fund the training yourself. Then as schemes arise, you can try your luck and apply.
Best of luck :ok:

Cheers for the heads up that’s just the sort of response I was looking for.

Has anyone else got any tips or suggestions?

Marry a rich widow with a bad cough, the days of the "true" sponsorships are well gone I'm afraid.

Try www.gapan.org they offer a few PPL scholorships and FI rating scholorships annually, as well as the JN Somers scholorship which is a full frozen ATPL course. Unfortunately you've just missed it, though the application re-opens around January every year, and April for the JN Somers. Hope this helps. Good luck!
