How?

First I copied his Geocities URL and downloaded the pix to my desktop.

Second I uploaded them to the website which I maintain for posting graphics on Rotorheads for any members who don't have a website of their own to use.

Third, as moderator,I can edit any post on the forum, so I deleted the Geocities URL's and replaced them with my new ones.

If you go to Randy's original post, you can select the edit function to take look at the new URL's. Don't worry, you won't be able to actually change anything without a special (moderator's) password. You can have a look at the UBB code of any post in this way if you want.

It was the 2nd stage, uploading to your own website to change the URL, which I couldn't work out. Sorry if I'm being slow here, but if you could upload to your site, why couldn't we upload the pics as an image onto Prune in the usual way?
Also, we don't seem to be able to link any images from geocities.com any more. Do you know why that is?

I saved the pictures to my desktop first. That got rid of Geocities. Then I oploaded them in the usual (FTP) fashion to my PPRuNe website. You could have done the same thing.

The only thing you could not do was replacing the URL's on Randy's post. Only the moderator can tamper with other people's posts and that of course means moi! :)

I haven't got a website and wanted to learn about loading pics - not how to edit other people's posts! I've only just learnt how to include pics in my own posts!
