NAC's Cape Aviation Business Centre acquired by Signature Flight Support

National Airways Corporation announced this week that their Cape Aviation Business Centre, based at Cape Town International Airport, has been acquired by Signature Flight Support. The acquisition of CABC provides Signature with its first location on the continent of Africa. This centre has full aircraft and passenger handling capabilities, customs and immigration assistance, fuel, on-site catering, three aircraft hangars and the expertise to handle all types of aircraft - including VIP and transport-category planes. In addition to standard facility features such as a passenger lounge and crew rest areas, the facility includes a private conference room with seating for up to 40 people.

Regarding the acquisition, CEO for NAC, Martin Banner, had the following to say: "Signature Flight Support, a BBA Aviation Services Group company, is the world's largest FBO (fixed base operator) chain, providing high level aircraft handling, passenger and fuel services to the business aviation community. Their acquisition of our Cape Aviation Business Centre will bring a new level of expertise to the African market and set a new standard in the industry. This is an important strategic relationship for NAC as we are jointly exploring other opportunities to grow our complimentary businesses."

David Best, MD of Signature in Europe, said: "I am delighted to have made this important first step into the African continent. Cape Town is a growing business center as well as a major resort destination and Cape Aviation Business Centre fits well within Signature's strategy of growing the network of global FBO facilities. We look forward to growing our relationship with NAC in the future."

Signature Flight Support services include fuelling, hangar and office rentals, ground handling and a wide-range of crew and passenger amenities at strategic locations. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Signature Flight Support currently operates at more than 60 locations in the United States, Europe, South America and Asia.
