View Full Version : Default home page probs (Hijack This log inc)

The homepage keeps defaulting to:

res://shdocvn.dll/blank.html

and everything I do doesn't seem to change it. Having read some other threads I have run Hijack This! and have reproduced the log below. If someone could see if there is a Hijack, it would be appreciated, and any resolution would need a 'little' explaining!
Thanks in advance

looks like you have been hijacked by about blank, try downloading cwshredder from Here (http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html) that may solve your problem on its own. if it says it was unable to delete a .dll file you will have to restart the computer in safe mode find and delete the file then restart the computer and run cwshredder again

I've found "Start Up Sentry " is helpful - it asks if you want to restore your home page on every start-up

Thanks for the replies, tried out the cwshredder and that didn't solve it but did find something else! I thought I had already run Ad-Aware but mustn't as in a last ditch attempt ran it and case now solved.

Cheers for the advice
