Dark Days

I was pondering all the accidents that have occurred in the last two or so months. Are we in the midst of a very dark period in world aviation, or what? Does anyone know if this is the highest accident rate for a certain period of time. I cannot remember another time that there were so many air disasters occuring with such regularity.

Maybe something to do with a higher gravitational pull in this part of the world ??

I thought its because:
This is where old aeroplanes a sent to grow older and then eventually become pots and pans....because it is cheaper than the scrapping cost...
