Hi all.

I saw last weekend,a saudi 744,HZ-WBT7,and today an IL76 YL-LAJ...anyone have details of where they arrived from/departed to and purpose on their visits?

Also, anyone know why there have been so many C17s recently? From Ascention Island?

Thanks!

HZWBT7 was accompanied by an A342 HZWBT4, but was not parked at FAJS with the B744. They both flew from FVHA to FACT in the evening (not sure of the dates) Then in the early hours of the next morning, both flew FACT-FBSK. Later that day, HZWBT7 the B744 ended up at FAJS, stayed for about 4 days then left for FBSK again. What happened after that, who knows. Nice to see them in our skies, but would love to know what their purpose here was.

As for the C17's some of them were logistics for Laura Bush's visit. While they were here they were doing quite a few flights between Zanzibar, Dar and Jo'burg.

I believe that it was a visit by the CEO of Kingdom Holding Company and his entourage to Southern Africa. The B744 has been recently refurbished and the A342 has been in the fleet for some time. There was also a Hawker 800 which was with the other two machines for part of the time. All are owned by the company. The B744 was at JIA for some routine maintenance.
