Have searched for a while now to no avail, I wonder if anybody could help me out with the following info:

In the NZ CAR, where do I find the info about take-off climb performance, en-route climb performance, approach climb performance and landing climb performance?

It exists in the US system in FAR 25, in the Australian CAO 20.7.1B.

Does it exist in the NZ CAR and if so where?

Thanks
Kanger

Ac's = Advisory Circulars

Hi 27/09,
Thanks for the explanation; so simple but so indiscernible (at least for me) :D
cheers

In NZ the performance requirements fall under subpart D of the relevant CAA rule (http://www.caa.govt.nz/rules/rules.htm)

These are:
Part 135 - Air Operations - Helicopters and Small Aeroplanes
Part 125 - Air Operations - Medium Aeroplanes
Part 121 - Air Operations - Large Aeroplanes

So it depends what size aircraft. Basically 125 covers small turboprops like Metro, J31, B1900. Anything over 30 seats comes under 121.

Hi Cloud Cutter,
I sort of guessed that, however on the first run through Part 121 - Air Operations - Large Aeroplanes I didn't find the desired numerical values..

I'll have to print out the file and have a look again.
Thanks for your input though
cheers

The minimum performance criterea for an aircraft are those from which the aircraft was certified ie FAR 23 or 25 in the US. Then the aircraft is required to meet minimum obstacle clearnace (a whole 15 feet worth worst case!) according to the rule in which it is operated under ie CAR 135,125,121.

So you need to have a gander at a combination of rules.

Speeds high,

thanks for the info. This saves me a whole heap of time. In that case I won't go searching for the numerical values etc in the CARs. I already have them from the FARs.

cheers
