Report below from TASS. Another, civilian Mi-8 has crashed in Siberia this morning but that appears to be some sort of wire strike or u/slung load problem, the translation to English is not good.

MOSCOW, August 18 (Itar-Tass) -- An incident occurred with a helicopter Mi-8 of the Russian Air Force near Khabarovsk. Ten people aboard the helicopter are alive, chief press officer of the Russian Air Force Col. Alexander Drobyshevsky told Itar-Tass.

“A serious incident occurred with the helicopter Mi-8 and eight paratroopers aboard during parachute jumps at 03.28 Moscow time on Thursday. The gear case of the anti-torque rotor destroyed at the height of 1200 meters. Helicopter commander Capt. Andrei Ivanenko ordered eight paratroopers leave the helicopter. He kept the helicopter at the safe distance taking the helicopter away from technical and residential buildings. Ivanenko managed to make a hard landing. All pilots were injured and brought to a Khabarovsk hospital,” Drobyshevsky pointed out.

“Commander of the Air Force Gen. Vladimir Mikhailov decided to suspend flights of helicopters Mi-8 till the causes of the incident are established,” he remarked.
